Laurie’s classes are a unique blend of athleticism, mindfulness, and soul. She is known for her down-to-earth approach to yoga and teaches with an emphasis on functional movement and mindfulness.
Laurie brings a wealth of experience to her classes and has worked previously as a yoga studio owner, personal trainer and Group X instructor. She has co-founded, directed and produced curriculum for both 200-hour and 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training Programs and has written and photographed an in-depth asana manual for yoga teachers. She has helped to certify and mentor many of the yoga teachers in the Tri-Valley area and beyond.
A fitness professional in the 90’s, Laurie became fascinated by the discipline and rigor of Ashtanga Yoga. She studied with Clayton Horton and was certified to teach yoga in 2003. She has had the privilege of studying with many inspired yoga teachers – including: Annie Carpenter, Lakshmi Norwood, Laura Camp, Maty Ezrati, Mynx Inatsugu, and Rusty Wells. A 500-hour E-RYT, she is a graduate of the YogaWorks Professional Program, and remains devoted to her ongoing studies.
Laurie is a professional photographer by day. She loves gardening, hiking, and all things design. Some time with her family, a dip in the Pacific and a Domino Magazine are a few things that make her yoga world go ‘round.
